MOCCASIN FLATS

This area is on the southeastern tip of the Reserve. In the 1940’s, this was a village survival winter encampment where the Bloods stayed. The dwellings were all tents, except for three wooden frame houses. A few men were able to find jobs since there were no living allowances of any kind. There was an abattoir establishment (slaughterhouse) near Moccasin Flat where the Bloods got food and employment. Whiskey Hill is situated about a mile west of Moccasin Flat.
